Durood-e-Tunajjina (or Tunjina) is named from the Arabic word 'tunajjina' meaning 'which saves us'. According to tradition, a pious man named Sheikh Musa Zareer experienced a severe storm at sea. He was inspired in a dream to recite this Durood 1000 times, after which the storm subsided. It is widely recited for deliverance from troubles and fulfillment of needs.
